New Star Wars in concert dates

Post  Legion on Wed Mar 31, 2010 12:35 am

Okay, the wife was a sport and bought tickets for this when it was here last fall, and I have to say it was FANTASTIC! Even my wife was impressed and said it was way better than she thought it was going to be. It's usually only one night, so don't waste time! Here's the bulk of the email I just got.

Star Wars: In Concert, a unique multi-media event featuring music from all six of John Williams' epic Star Wars scores, returns to North America on May 13, 2010 in Ft. Myers, Florida.

The production features a full symphony orchestra and choir, accompanied by specially edited footage from the films displayed on a three-story-tall, HD LED super-screen - one of the largest ever put on tour. The live music and film elements are synchronized, creating a full multi-media, one-of-kind Star Wars experience.

"We've taken the key themes from the music and cut together all the images that fit with each theme, so you can really get a sense of how the music played into the images," said George Lucas, creator of the Star Wars Saga. "The whole soundtrack is a testament to John Williams' creativity and his extraordinary ability to enhance the emotional aspects of the films."

This is one of many examples, Guy, where I've tried but failed to win tickets on the radio for a concert. I just don't post my failings on Facebook.

Oh, okay, Mr. I've Got the Touch. I bet you are the guy who shows up at the supermarket with a gazillion "win a car" forms, and stuff them into the box. Am I right?

It would only be logical, because I've been known to do the same... Rolling Eyes

Well worth the price of the ticket however. I tend to remember music anyway and the scenes that go along with that particular piece, so for me that concert struck a very unique cord. (Hah, didn't even plan that pun!)

Cheers,
